Chapter 997 Four Corners Area

Our Next Meeting

It’s time to celebrate Christmas! And we will do it up right with an Organized Pot Luck Dinner in Del’s Hangar No. 3 at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, 12-15-04. You should have received a copy of the menu from President Jim by email. Two items: (1) if you want something other than coffee, bring your own (There will be ice for mixed drinks.), and (2) Give some thought to an early arrival. The set-up process needs at least four people for at least an hour. How about lots of volunteers? The menu includes turkey and ham, many veggies and five desserts. What more could you ask? This dinner has always been a great time, so don’t be late.

Our Last Meeting

Saturday, November 20 we met at Oliver’s in Aztec for breakfast and then went up to the airport to see Bob Holgate’s two airplanes. Does anybody look hungry?

I had "Eggs Benedict – Country Style." That means they substituted sausage gravy for Hollandaise sauce – I recommend it!

You may have to use your magnifying glass to recognize that there are three airplanes in the picture below. In the front with the cowling off and the canopy open is Bob’s Vari-eze. He bought it in Sedona from a guy who had never been out of ground effect. The trip home was "very exciting," and included an incident upon landing. Some control surface rework is under consideration.

In the back corner is Bob’s Cozy IV. The airframe is relatively complete but in an early stage of construction.

Business Meeting

  1. Minutes of the meeting November 13 were approved as published.
  2. We voted that dues will be due annually and not prorated for mid-year new starts.
  3. A card of appreciation from Dr. Eichar’s widow was circulated. She is certain that he is "flying high."
